Contrada Santa Fara Contrada Santa Fara stretches across the spectacular hills of Salaparuta, in an alternation of heights caressed by beautiful strokes of color. From the fuchsia of the expanses of sulla to the antique gold of the grapevines and pure gold of the wheat fields.
The Vaccaro family owns 3 hectares of clay loam land. At 290 meters above sea level, these lands are ideal for growing Pinot Grigio: the altitude, soil and microclimate give these grapes their typical varietal and mouthfilling aromas.
Contrada Annuziata In this unique hilly area, 400 meters above sea level, you can enjoy all the pleasant richness of the Sicilian countryside, so generous, fruitful and lavish. In the 10 acres of Contrada Annunziata the cultivated grape varieties - Pinot Grigio, Catarratto, Merlot and Nero d'Avola - thrive thanks to an optimal temperature range between the sunny hours of the day and the night cooled by fresh breezes.
These very special microclimate features combined with the medium texture soil give the grapes a rich aromatic range and good complexity on the palate.
Contrada Comune The 30 hectares of land in Contrada Comune are at 160 meters above sea level and is crossed by the old bed of the river Belice. The majestic trunk with beautiful outbranchings of a plant of Catarratto, planted here in 1985, testifies to the extraordinary fertility of these lands.
The soil is slightly clayey with medium texture and some patches of gravel; the grapes varieties cultivated are Catarratto, Zibibbo, Pinot Grigio, Nerello Mascalese and Nero d'Avola.
The presence of pebbles keeps the roots of the grape vines fresh and the proximity of the river, once again, makes the evenings cool and the hours of the day mild, favoring the regular ripening of the grapes. The peculiarities of this terroir give the wines a range of scents spanning from citrus to the freshness of wild flowers.
